Eliza Eaton

Community Engagement Coordinator

Eliza Eaton is the Autism Community Engagement Coordinator for AIMS-2-TRIALS, supporting representatives from the autism community around Europe in collaboration with researchers from partner institutions, including the Autism Research Centre at the University of Cambridge, where Ms. Eaton is based.

Although she is originally from the United States, Ms. Eaton was educated at the University of St. Andrews and the London School of Economics before spending over a decade as an educator. She taught history in inclusion classrooms in Colorado and Louisiana, along with training and mentoring other educators to develop culturally responsive and neurodiversity-affirming curricula.

Ms. Eaton’s autism diagnosis came in adulthood, and has expanded her focus from solely advocating for her marginalised students toward advocating for autistic people of all ages. Ms. Eaton has two children, aged 3 and 6, and lives in Cambridge with her partner, where she enjoys exploring her intense and lifelong interests in the Black Death, historical fashion and textiles, the social history of the Roman Empire, and American-style regional pies.
