Irene Pallás

Research Assistant

Irene is a research assistant helping to evaluate the effectiveness of improvisational music therapy for autistic children. Working with Dr. Claire Howlin, she has joined the Autism-Children’s Improvisational Music Therapy Evaluation (CHIME) trial at the Autism Research Centre.

Irene graduated with honors as a Primary teacher educator at Zaragoza University, completing part of her studies abroad, in the Czech Republic and Finland. At the same time, she finished her Music Professional Qualification in Piano at the Professional Music Conservatoire Antonio Viñuales Gracia – Huesca. She completed her MSc in Neurosciences at Complutense University, focusing on musical experience as a neuroprotective factor in healthy and pathological aging at the Center for Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience (C3N).

Working in diverse projects involving music, neuroscience and different neurodevelopmental conditions or neurodegenerative processes, she completed a research assistantship at Music, Mind and Brain research group at Goldsmiths University of London, taking part in a range of different studies focused on areas of Music Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience.
