Mahtab Moniri
Research Assistant
Mahtab is a research assistant working alongside Professors Simon Baron-Cohen, John Suckling, Jon Simmons, and Drs Carrie Allison and Richard Bethlehem on a project exploring exceptional memory and skills in autism.
She holds an MPhil in Basic and Translational Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge, where her research at the MRC Cognitive Brain Sciences Unit focused on the effects of prior knowledge and expectations on memory consolidation, with a focus on predictive processing. Prior to this, she completed her BSc at the University of York in Biomedical Sciences.
Mahtab’s research interests include exploring the neuroscientific and cognitive foundations of memory, particularly within neurodevelopmental contexts. She is passionate about human-facing research and the practical applications of neuroscience in psychiatry.
