Catherine Brushwood

Research Assistant

Catherine is a research assistant on the Autism-Children’s Improvisational Music Therapy Evaluation (CHIME) trial, helping to evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy for children with autism.

Catherine holds a BSc in Psychology from Keele University and has worked as an Assistant Psychologist across various sectors, including health, social care, and the criminal justice system.

With a background in working with autistic individuals of all ages and their families, Catherine is committed to advancing the understanding of neurodiversity. Her passion lies in advocating for underrepresented groups; giving a voice to those who might otherwise be excluded due to stigma and misunderstanding.
