Dr Helena Brunel

Bioinformatician

Helena holds a MSc degree in Mathematics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC-Barcelona Tech) where she also completed her PhD in Bioinformatics. Before moving to Cambridge, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Unit of Genomics of Complex Diseases in the Hospital de Sant Pau – Barcelona, studying the genetics of Thrombosis.

She also collaborates with the IFMK Institute in Paris as a statistical consultant and lecturer.

Helena’s main research interests relate to statistical methods applied to any biomedical discipline but more particularly her current research is focused on developing statistical methodologies for genetic analyses of complex conditions such as autism.
