Dr Michael Lombardo
Principal Investigator of Neurodevelopmental Disorders Italian Institute of Technology, University of Cyprus
Mike is the PI of the Neurodevelopmental Disorders research line at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) and directs the Laboratory for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (LAND) based in the Center for Neuroscience and Cognitive Systems (CNCS) in Rovereto, Italy. He holds an honorary position at the University of Cambridge Autism Research Centre, where he conducted his PhD and postdoc research. In 2011 he was awarded a British Academy Post Doctoral Research Fellowship, and a Research Fellowship at Jesus College Cambridge.
He did his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of California, Davis and trained at the UC Davis MIND Institute and the UC Davis Center for Mind and Brain.
He continues his collaboration with the Autism Research Centre via the EU-AIMS multi-centre study, the infant imaging study at the Evelyn Perinatal Imaging Centre (EPIC) at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, the Cambridge Child Development Project studying the effects of fetal sex steroids on structural brain development, and the collaboration with the Danish Biobank at the State Serum Institute investigating fetal sex steroids in autism.
